About Noozify

Where the idea came from

Most of us know one living room we never want to leave. It might belong to a close friend, a sibling, or a grandparent. There is always something curious on the shelves, a conversation that teaches you something without ever feeling like a lesson, a record playing low in the background, a game half-finished on the coffee table, and an old movie flickering in the next room. Nobody is selling you anything, nobody is shouting, and nobody minds how long you stay. You walk out knowing a little more and feeling a little better than when you arrived.

Noozify is our attempt to build that room online. Everything on the site is here because it belongs in a room like that.

What is in the room

• Stories worth talking about. Noozify is a small, independent publication. We write original, bylined stories about the things people are actually discussing, whether that is a record broken on Sunday, an album out on Friday, a bond market that just spooked everyone, or a film that saved a franchise. Science, history, music, film, television, games, sports, money, travel, food, and the occasional genuinely funny corner of the internet are all in scope. Each story opens with a short summary, many come with a half-minute video, and our reviews end with a report card.
• Sound to settle in with. The white noise and ambient music under the headphones icon are there to set the mood. Put them on to settle in while you browse, or leave them playing in a quiet tab to shut out the world while you read a book, study, or meditate. They keep playing as you move around the site, and a sleep timer turns them off when you are done.
• Games for a breather. The Arcade is there purely for fun, and for the moments when you need to unwind, shake off a long day, or clear your head before diving back in. It is a shelf of quick, single-sitting games in Noozify’s own style, from a falling-block puzzle and a maze chase to chess, Sudoku, and a typing test. Nothing to install and nothing to buy.
• Something on in the next room. Noozify TV is a retro television set showing classic public-domain shows and films, with channels on a shared schedule and an episode guide for when you would rather pick for yourself.
• A reading list. One tab over from the Originals sits a hand-picked list of the best reporting from other outlets, each with a line on why it is worth your click.

What sets it apart

• Not political. There is no party line here, no opinion section, and no hot takes. We do not tell you what to think about an election, a court, or a culture war, and we do not chase the news cycle for its own sake. When a story we cover is genuinely contested, we show you the disagreement and stop there.
• Objective by design. Every Original carries a named byline. Every link in it is checked before publication. Corrections are made in the open. How we source, check, and fix our work is written down in our editorial standards, and we hold ourselves to it.
• Relevant, not just recent. Each Original is tied to something happening now, and it explains why it matters and where it came from. A spike in Treasury yields becomes a story about your mortgage. A season of a spy show becomes a story about how television gets made on time. You leave knowing more than you arrived with.
• Built for staying, not scrolling. Long reads you can finish. Videos that stand on their own. No autoplay, no infinite scroll, and no notifications begging you to come back. Stay as long as you like, and when you are done, you are done.

How the site works

• Originals are the homepage. Sort by newest, or by what readers have ranked highest over the past day, week, month, or year.
• Categories in the menu take you straight to science, history, music, sports, or whatever you came for.
• Votes shape the ranking. The number beside each story is its net score, updated live.

Reading, the sound player, and Noozify TV need no account. A free account lets you vote, save stories, and play in the Arcade. That is all it is for.

Who is behind it

Noozify is written and run by a small team. Its founder and principal writer is Adam Canissario; Dan Chafetz writes on games, film, music, and sports. Every story on the site is the work of a named person who answers for it.
