SHERYL CROW'S 'PICK YOU UP': SAME SUN, SOFTER LIGHT

[THE SOUND] Still soaking up the sun.

Sheryl Crow's new album, Pick You Up, came out October 9th with seven songs written with Jeff Trott, her co-writer on the 2002 hit "Soak Up the Sun."
The warm guitars and easy choruses have barely changed in 24 years, but the words have.

[THE VERDICT] Wiser words, same tune.

The lyrics accept a later stage of life, promising to show up for a friend rather than fix everything.
The hooks start to repeat, and the album ends after 25 minutes. Noozify gives it a C+.
